Girl Guides
Fun, Friendship and Adventure for Girls
We are proud to host a lively and welcoming Girl Guides group here at The United Church, Hyde.
Our groups meet on Wednesday evenings during term time, providing a safe and fun environment where girls can learn new skills, build confidence, make friends, and enjoy exciting activities together.
Nearly 80 girls are currently part of our Girl Guides community, making it a vibrant and active part of church life.
Our Groups
We run several age groups within Girlguiding:
Rainbows – for younger girls beginning their guiding journey
Brownies – learning skills, teamwork and confidence
Guides – developing independence and leadership
Seniors – taking on challenges and exploring new opportunities
Each group meets at slightly different times on Wednesday evenings.
What Do Girls Do?
Every week includes a varied and engaging programme, which may include:
Crafts and creative activities
Cooking and practical skills
Team games and challenges
Discussions about important issues in the world today
Community activities and badges
There are also special events throughout the year, including trips and the exciting opportunity to go on camp.
A Safe and Supportive Environment
Our leaders are dedicated volunteers who work hard to create a safe, friendly and encouraging space where every girl can be herself, grow in confidence, and try new things.
